As president of the Continental Congress, John Hancock was the very first to sign the Declaration of Independence. He artistically signed his name in large, flowing letters intending to make sure that King George III could read his name without glasses. That signature represented his bold personal commitment to the cause for which he was willing to die!
Now we’ve probably been asked to give our “John Hancock” in a variety of ways. But what’s the most important personal commitment for your “John Hancock”? It should be your commitment to God. Proverbs 16:3 Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
Fifty-six delegates signed the Declaration of Independence, and one name stands out above the others because He was willing to let the world know where his loyalty stood.
Has your signature let your King know where you stand?
